BARN CONVERSIONS

 DICKENS LANE

Our client purchased a large range of timber barns was and asked Kingswood Design Residential to obtain planning permission to convert them into four houses.

As part of our service, we organised a specialist timber survey to be carried out to identify which timber members were rotten and needed to be replaced, which timber members needed some repair, and which timber members were in good condition and could remain untouched. Once this was completed, it formed the basis of identifying the work that needed to be done to the timber frames.

We designed extensions to the barns with king post trusses to reflect the original barn design and many of the original and new timber members were left exposed, with rendered panels in between.
