GARAGE CONVERSION DESIGN

A garage conversion can be an excellent way to get an additional room in your house, whether it is converting a single or double garage.

 

There is always the question about the loss of the garage, as this can be perceived as reducing the value of the house, but the addition of a large room would normally outweigh the loss of a garage.

 

Garages can be converted into bedrooms with an en-suite, a home office/study, a dining room, or a utility room with a w.c./cloakroom; all very useful depending on your family’s needs.

We often provide architecture designs to convert the back half of a garage to a utility or shower room and retain the front half for bike storage, so there are various ways of approaching the best use of the space.

 

Garages need to have waterproofing and insulation added but are otherwise a cost-effective way of gaining an additional room as the structure is already there! It is usually fairly straightforward to form a new doorway between the house and garage.
