INDUSTRIAL UNITS

This site in Leighton Buzzard was built on made ground, so an inventive vibro-compaction method of providing foundations was proposed. This is where stone is dug into the ground and then vibrated to remove voids, leaving the ground strengthened enough to support buildings.

Some of the units were for specific clients, such as Marshalls Coaches, so we worked with Marshalls to get a building layout that suited their specific requirements.

Some of the units were built speculatively to offer to the market when finished. The challenge was to provide floorspace that was flexible and open plan.

Car parking spaces and areas for lorries to deliver and turn were very important in the site layout.
